There are two cutting labels processes:

  • Transverse
  • Longitudinal.

The transverse cutting machine currently on the market have a vertical movement of the sonotrode or of the processing area itself. The cut is called a “guillotine”, while the sonotrode is generally made of titanium or hardened steel, to withstand the stresses of handling.

The most commonly used working frequency is 35 kHz.

Longitudinal cutting machines use one or more of the 30 kHz systems where the titanium sonotrodes are positioned in line to cover the full width of the reel which must be proportionate. The cut is made by circular blades mounted on special spring systems, integrated on a structure called “swallow’s nest” which allows you to change the position that gives the user the best option for creating models with different widths.
